3. Who else receives data

  • Hostinger (web hosting), which stores the website and its database on servers in the United States.
  • Brevo, which sends the website’s emails (booking confirmations and reminders, the free PDF and lessons).
  • Google: Google sign-in, Google Calendar and Google Meet for classes; Google AdSense for ads (section 5); YouTube, only if you choose to load a video; Google Fonts, which load the website’s fonts; Gemini, which receives the topic you type when you use “Create it now”.
  • PayPal, which processes payments, packs and monthly plans.
  • WhatsApp (Meta), only when the teacher writes to you there about your classes.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the person creating an account is not a robot.
  • PeerJS (public connection server) for live classes and group games.
  • Wikimedia Commons (paintings shown in some slides) and Openverse (image search in the activity creator), which receive your IP address when those images load or when you search.

Each of these services handles data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data or give it to advertisers. Some of these providers are outside your country, including in the United States; for data from the European Union, they rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. By using the features that need them, you agree to this transfer.

4. How long we keep it

  • Account and its content: until you delete the account.
  • Forum messages: until you ask us to remove them or the forum closes.
  • Email list: until you unsubscribe.
  • Class bookings and payments: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
  • Your WhatsApp number: while you book classes with us; you can ask us to delete it at any time.
  • Records of acceptance of the Terms and Privacy Policy: while your account or relationship with us lasts and afterwards only for as long as a claim about it could still be made.
  • Server logs: a short period set by our host, for security.

5. Cookies and advertising

By default the website does not put cookies on your device. Cookies only appear when you sign in (to keep you signed in), when you pay with PayPal, when you load a YouTube video, and when ads are shown. Members who are signed in do not see ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google shows a consent message before using cookies for personalised ads. Details in our Cookie Policy.

6. Children

Accounts, forums, email sign-ups and bookings are for people aged 16 or older. Children can play activities without an account; if they type a name at the end, it should be a first name or nickname. Teachers who use the website with children are responsible for any permission their school or the law requires. If you believe a child has given us personal data without permission, write to us and we will delete it.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to or limit its use, and withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect what was done before). Write to interacctivespanishbooks@gmail.com; we will answer within the time the law sets (within one month at the latest). If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the data protection authority of your country (in the EU, your national authority).

8. Security

The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS); passwords are stored encrypted; uploaded images are re-encoded and audio is checked before being stored; access to the administration is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

9. Changes

We will update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top shows the current version, and we keep each version that someone accepted.
